Course Objectives

- PRACTICE: DRABC
- PRACTICE: Safety management of the first-aider in emergency situations.
- CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) (9 hrs)
- PRACTICE: How to observe responsiveness & consciousness? (Look, Listen, Feel)
- PRACTICE: External chest compression (ECC).
- Dressing & bandages. (9 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Types of dressings & application of dressings.
- PRACTICE: Types of bandages & application of bandages.
- Injuries to bones (Fractures) (6 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Causes, types & signs & symptoms of fractures.
- PRACTICE: Management of fractures.
- Shock (6 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Causes, types & signs & symptoms of shock.
- PRACTICE: Management of shock.
- Unconsciousness & nervous system (6 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Management of head injuries & skull fractures.
- PRACTICE: Management of heart attacks, heat exhaustion, heat stroke & epilepsy.
- Burns & scalds (6 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Management of snake bites, dog bites, bee bites & wasp stings.
- PRACTICE: Management of poisoning by gases.
- PRACTICE: Management of poisoning by swallowing.
- Transportation of casualties (6 hrs)
- PRACTICE: Blanket lift & stretcher transportation of casualties.
- PRACTICE: Transporting a case of spinal injury.
Projects
One project is to be chosen by a group of students (Maximum group size: 4).
- Design the ‘Rule of Nine’ for the area of burn.
- Design the management of CPR.
- Design the management of dressing & bandages.
- Design the management of fractures.
- Design the safety of first-aider & casualty in an emergency.
- Design the principles of first aid.
- Design transport techniques for casualties.
Course Duration
Theory: 250 hrs
Practical / Clinical: 350 hrs
Total: 600 hrs of classes
Final Exam
The final exam will be held at the end of the 6th month. A candidate must secure 50% to receive the certificate of (CEMGT).
